Quick Update and Request for Custom Designs!
over 5 years ago – Fri, Jul 24, 2020 at 08:25:36 PM

Hey everyone!  Things have been pretty hectic with my shifting plans to do my post-scarcity documentary tour (I'll post more information later on when I can simple drop some links to informational pages, but it's a pretty big deal!)

I've been getting all of your orders organized and pre-staining a lot of wood to start doing early cuts, which is the first step in production (followed by the extremely dull puzzle-like assembly process which for some reason my tiny reptile brain finds very soothing!)

As a big part of the process, we need to start sorting out all the massive plethora of custom design requests!!!

So, I know a lot of you have fairly simple designs (an engraving of text on the inner lid, or a logo for your campaign, things like that) and you already know what you want and where you want it!!

If that's the case, shoot me an email at [email protected] with your name, backer number (don't stress if you can't find it), and the details of your custom request.

If you want something more complex, like a generic design you need brought to life by my beautifully artistic hands (in other words, by the people I pay who can actually draw) then please feel free to email me as well!

If I don't hear from you, I'll be sending out emails soon with custom design requests, but I wanted to give an opportunity for those who already knew exactly what they wanted or had a design ready to go ahead and send them in so I can get a head start on things.

I'll try to post updates more often, but so far things are going remarkably smooth!  The first steps of staining the wood and firing up the laser have gone without a hitch and soon the pieces will start piling up!!

Fulfillment Update and Drama Disclaimer
almost 6 years ago – Tue, Jun 23, 2020 at 06:10:00 AM

Hello everyone!

So, because of some recent drama from someone who apparently is very bored during quarantine, I wanted to give you guys all an update on the fulfillment schedule.

Not to dive into the drama because frankly it's incredibly childish, a custom order was informed, along with several other custom orders that I'm working on right now, that there were obviously large delays due to, well, the world being on fire right now.  (Coupled with various issues I've been facing concerning roommates, but that's not anyone else's issue to deal with so I'm not making that public)

I informed all of my custom order customers that I was having to move out of the house I've been living in, which means losing the garage workshop, and I offered them all various items as substitutions for their custom orders, or refunds when available.  One person demanded an immediate refund, and threatened to try to destroy my company if I did not give it to them, so I sold my TV to a friend in order to take care of it, and told them exactly how selfish they were being to put all of your pledges at risk by trying to get my company shut down.

Again, I took care of it (I'll miss my TV) so my company is still alive, and none of your pledges are going to be affected (they are still trying their best to slander me over it because I told them exactly what I thought of them... no apologies available, some people are trash and they cuss out cashiers and waiters, we all know the type.  Unfortunately for them, I own my company so noone is threatening to fire me for telling someone like that exactly what they deserve to hear).

As for all of you lovely people... I want you to know that when I received the money from this kickstarter, I put some of it aside to cover the cost of a workspace in case of emergencies, since it looked like COVID was going to hit pretty hard.  I am very glad I did because that workspace is reserved, even if I'm losing my current one.

So, the timeline for this kickstarter doesn't change much.  I'm still going to be focused on organizing all your surveys (almost all of you have finished but there's still a few left) and until I get into the new workspace I will be working with all of you on your custom designs and requests, which I can do pretty much anywhere even without a shop.

The reserved time in the shared workspace I'll be using is set to start in September but I'm going to try to get in there early to get a better jump on things, but with that much time to organize I don't anticipate any delays in getting started, which means I can start cranking out Nautilus's immediately that month!!

Which means... keep a space set aside under that tree.

I will of course keep you guys updated on any changes!

A quick sampling of a stained wood option!

Per a request, I wanted to post a photo of one of the darker stain options to show how the etched designs look.

This is Black Cherry with the Circle Dragon design!
